What is a Geopolymer?

This is a very specialized material appears to be cement but does not contain any Portland cement thus eliminating the issues caused by ordinary Portland cement. This material goes through a polymerization process rather than a hydration process. Portland cement is the glue binder holds together the structure of concrete and mortar products. The weak link in portland cement is that it is not corrosion resistant and will deteriorate very quickly when exposed to high levels of acidic corrosion.

A pure geopolymer product is inert to acidic chemical reactions, thus the material binder does not degrade when exposed to a corrosive environment, like what is found in sanitary sewer collection systems. The H2S build up inside a sewer system destroys uncoated concrete and metal structures. These structures lose their structural integrity and fail over time. Geopolymers are the next evolution of construction materials, just as PVC pipe was 30 plus years ago. This is a paradigm shift type of material with exponential global potential.
