What is CCTV & Cleaning?

CCTV stands for Closed-Circuit Television. CCTV and Cleaning are used to inspect sewer lines and structures for condition assessments both before and after construction. This is part of the QA and QC methods to ensure quality work done to pipelines. A robotic remote camera is tethered to a cable system that allows the unit to travel inside the pipeline. It can capture photographs and videos with detailed information on the video of depth, elevation slope, and many other features. A jetting nozzle forces water into the system to clean and clear the line of debris so that the camera unit can travel freely. This is considered part of system cleaning and maintenance of the sewer collection system and should be done every 5-10 years, if not more frequently, for preventive measures.
