What is Cementitious Manhole Rehabilitation?
This is a trenchless application in which structural cementitious mortar is applied by spraying and/or spincasting onto the surface of concrete, brick, or composite manholes. This method restores lost structural integrity and seals up all the cracks, joints, voids to prevent leaks. When sprayed from top to bottom the structure becomes a single monolithic unit.
Various cementitious coatings exist that can handle standard and extreme corrosion found inside the sewer collection systems. Leaking manholes are one of the largest sources of storm water infiltration and cause a lot of sewer overflows from these massive leak sources. Manhole rehabilitation not only upgrades an old failing structure it stops leaks which yields one of the best return on investments an owner can do for their sewer collection system.
